How to Write a Poem
Trying to solve a mystery? Is this what you are looking for?
The Poetry & Pizza Club will be meeting on the following dates during the 2009 -
2010 school year: September 25, October 23, November 20, January 29, February 25,
March 19, April 30 and May 28
.

There will be no cost for attending the meeting. You must have a ticket to attend. In
order to get a ticket, you will need to submit one original poem at least one day
prior to the meeting, which you are willing to read aloud at the meeting.

You must include your name and grade on the poem. Do not submit anything that
you do not want displayed in the library or on the library Web page.

You may email your poem to dbreece@cougarsread.info or bring a copy to the library
media center. The poem may be on any subject, and in any form, provided that the
content of the poem is not vulgar or offensive, does not employ profanity, and is the
original, individual work of the student. Any variations to the rules must be approved
by the library media specialist. Acceptance of poems is at the discretion of the
library media specialist. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Breece in the
library media center.

A good poem will make you feel something. It
might make you cry or it might make you laugh.
It might give you goose bumps! A poem that
you wrote for a friend can be a better gift than
anything you could buy. Good poetry is hard to
forget and easy to share. Read some and then
write some. Poetry is good for the soul.
